The Raleigh County Housing Authority provides rental assistance to low income families in a six-county area.
Qualifying families are issued certificates or vouchers and locate a rental unit themselves. The Housing Authority then helps
pay the rent. In addition, 60 units of public housing are available in Raleigh County.

Housing assistance is limited to low income families and to low income single individuals who are elderly,
disabled, or handicapped.

Secured shelter for domestic violence & sexual assault victims and their children. Provide 24-hour hot
line, a wide range of therapeutic services, legal advocacy, case management to assist in establishing a safe home, basic education
program, parenting education, children's programs, community education, outreach services, sexual assault response team, which
includes counseling and legal advocacy for victims of sexual assault, and a batterer's program for perpetrators of domestic
violence & outreach services for men.
